Life is full of challenges, ups, and downs. It is like a textbook. Some chapters in it are happy, some melancholic, and some exciting as well.
With a huge turning point in a journey of our ( my wife and I) life, bidding goodbye to the piece of our heart, we are aimless, and all our hopes in life got shattered. Abruptly, a devastating, terrible, and intolerable veil of darkness covered us. Everything went uncertain, what I personally did not think, unanswered.
Days passed by, weakening ourselves physically, mentally, and emotionally. No intends in our moment, whether it is a day or a night. Of course, inviting a cruel time to snatch us together too. But suddenly, a positive vibe emerged from me. To keep up the spirit of our beloved son ( Antariksh Sapkota) alive, we thought of setting up a mission of a Memorial Scholarship to honor him. With no delay, I set up an appointment with Dr. Lopita Nath and Ms Jennifer Alaniz-Yanez, current board President and Treasurer respectively of Antariksh Sapkota Legacy Foundation ( ASLF). Then and there, we set up a secondary Bank Account entitled ” Memorial Scholarship” and started our contribution. The motif of our mission was to give away scholarships to High School Graduates( eligible and regardless of any community and career path) initially at a core level. We continued this mission and added up a few more members in a team ( who are the current Board of Directors). A month or two later, a Board came up with a boarder picture of establishing a FOUNDATION, taking into consideration of our son’s impression in our community and his overall talents to honor him. This team accelerated the process and was able to unofficially announce a Foundation on June 3, 2021, the day of his High School Graduation from Northside ISD in San Antonio, TX. Since then, we are on to this lifetime mission of fundraising for community welfare in the field of education ( i.e. giving away scholarships) to eligible High School Students Graduated in America).
Therefore, on behalf of the Sapkota Family and Board of Directors, Antariksh Sapkota Legacy Foundation ( ASLF), I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to our family members, friends, well-wishers, and generous donors for their selfless support for this good cause of honoring divine spirit of Antariksh through the mission of Scholarship. He was the light of the family and one of the gems of the community. He is still with us invisibly, and we will receive blessings from him in carrying out our mission successfully. Let’s join hand-in-hand in carrying out this mission for the good cause.
Sincerely,
Santi R. A. Sapkota
